Spring Thread Lift vs Facelift Surgery: The Pros and Cons

Are you someone who isn’t happy with their facial appearance? Do you have concerns about ageing skin?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, you may be considering plastic surgery. You would not be alone, as there are over 15,000 cosmetic procedures completed per year.

To deal with this, you may be looking for different options. Among these, there is a spring thread lift or you can look into a facelift procedure.

Is a spring thread facelift one of the best types of facelift options for you? Or should you consider a full procedure?

Here are the pros and cons of each.

Spring Thread Lift

A spring thread lift, also called a threaded facelift, is an option that can be simpler for someone looking for a lifted face and neck.

For starters, this procedure is going to cost less than having surgery. It is also less invasive as a non-surgical option. As a result, there are fewer risks for something to go wrong, such as scarring.

On top of this, you don’t have to worry about an extensive recovery time. Often, you’ll be back to work in just a few days. Plus the results last up to 5 years.

So, what are the cons of this procedure?

The main con is that there may be bunching of the skin which can take up to 4 weeks to fully settle. Although the majority of the dimpling is away after 1 week, it can take 4 weeks for all the bunching to go. The results keep improving and reach their peak at 12 weeks and last up to 5 years.

Facelift Surgery

Now, let’s go over the other option that you have. In contrast to the spring thread lift, a facelift surgery comes with risks as an invasive procedure. The main benefit is how long the effects of this procedure last. If things go well, the facelift can last 5-7 years.

You might be thinking, “But are there any downsides to that?” Well, before you make up your mind, it’s important to know the two major cons of surgical facelifts.

The first one is that there are more side effects and an increased risk of things going wrong. You have to understand that this is a more difficult and more invasive procedure than a spring thread lift. So, prepare yourself for more consequences.

The second con is the expense. Because of how invasive it is and how long the effects last, be prepared to write a hefty check for the full surgery.

Book a Procedure

These are the pros and cons of a spring thread lift and a facelift surgery. If you are someone who wants a less invasive procedure at a more reasonable price, then the spring thread lift is the way to go.
